This is a question I've had for aaages, but I haven't been able to find a proper answer. These days, a lot of engines have material shaders that have incredible complexity, often using node-based editors. While not trivial, it seems pretty straightforward how these can be turned into compiled pixel

im just curious, Do I really need to Study shaders in DX to make a cool game? Im having a hard time looking for some tutorials on how to implements shaders in DX
Hi,
I am relatively new to shader programming.
Could anyone give me some links for tutorials on:
-Implementing shaders in OpenGL
-ARB Vertex shaders
-ATI Text Fragment shaders
Thanks.
Hi, I am not so far with shader programming, but I wonder how people apply shader-materials to models for their engines and games. I mean models which were exported from 3D Studio Max or Maya. I remember that Crytek (they made Far Cry) has a plug-in for Max and Maya to apply normal maps onto
Hi gamedev community.
I was read the book "Introduction to 3D Game Programming with DirectX 9.0c." (Frank Luna) and the 3 finals chapters have HLSL and shaders.
Now I like to learn shaders, I need a book: What book do you recommend me? The money isn't a problem.

i've noticed that in the very near future, i'm going to have to learn to work with shaders(Directx 10, openGL 3) and i'm wondering, does anyone know of a good place to start? thanks
